Pakis Tangkur (Polypodium feei METT) is a plant that grows in the area of Mount Tangkuban Perahu Bandung, whose roots are used as traditional medicine. In this study, the effect of repeated administration of ethanol extract of akar pakis tangkur (Polypodium feei METT) was conducted on hematological profile (blood) of Wistar strain white rats to determine the effect of repeated ethanol extract of akar pakis tangkur in test animals. Hematologic profile parameters include hemoglobin level, erythrocyte count, leukocyte count, platelet count and hematocrit value. The results showed that the ethanol extract of akar pakis tangkur (Polypodium feei METT) given for 90 days at a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight, 400 mg/kg body weight and 800 mg/kg body weight stated that it had an influence on the parameters of hematological profile of test animals (mice), especially dose of 400 mg/kg body weight of hemoglobin level and dose of 800 mg/kg body weight of hematocrit value of female mice had a significant increase compared to the control (p<0.05), and caused a significant reduction in platelet counts of female rats at 400 mg/kg body weight compared to controls (p < 0.05). But it has no effect on the number of erythrocytes and the number of leukocytes in test animals. So that the results of this study indicate that doses that do not cause toxic effects on test animals are a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight. The increase and decrease in hematological profile parameters are still at their normal levels and recovered after the cessation of the test preparation means that the extract of the fern fern root is only a reversible toxic effect.
