<note>Telah dilakukan penelitian efek ekstrak metanol, fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air daun sirih (Piper betle.Linn)terhadap pembentukan asam urat in vitro dengan menggunakan metode penghambat xantin oksidase. Hasil menunjukan bahwa ekstrak metanol, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air daun sirih  (Piper betle.Linn) dapat menghambat kerja enzim xantin oksidase dan penghambat yang paling tinggi ditunjukan oleh fraksi air dun sirih, dimana pada konsentrasi terendah yaitu 62,5 ug/ml telah memberikan aktivitas penghambat 100%</note>
