<note>Isolasi alginat dari alga coklat jenis sargassum echinocarpum menghasilkan alginat dengan rendeman 40,09% dan 38,62%, dari dua kali pengerjaan dengan perbedaan sebesar 3,5%. Alginat yang dihassilakn dibandingkan dengan alginat dari pasaran memberikan warna yang lebih coklat,tetapi uji batas mikroba,sust pengeringan,kadar abu total,viskositas,uji bats logam berat timbal telah memenuhi syarat. Hasil spektropotometri inframerah algiant menunjukan serapan masksimum pada bilangan gelombang 3444.24 cm 2923.56 cm 16.23 cm,1415.49 cm.</note>
